Baked Strawberry Chips | Movie Snacks! | Vegan Recipe (giveaway closed)

These strawberry chips are perfect for sneaking into movies theatres when the vegan options aren’t so great (or non-existent). Or have them any time as they are super tasty, have a satisfying crunch, and are rich in Vitamin C.

All you need are strawberries, some baking sheets (ideally lined with parchment paper, and a regular oven. I used 1lb (about 450g) of fresh strawberries which made about one and a half cups of dehyrdrated strawberries.

After washing and drying your strawberries, slice them thin; between 1mm and 3mm. Keep in mind that very thin slices will give you papery thin wafers and thicker slices will result in a crunchier chip though thick slices will take longer to dry.

Dehydrate them in your oven at the lowest possible temperature (my oven goes down to 170F) and flip the slices and rotate the trays every 30 minutes. Remove any slices that are dry and crisp.

As the strawberries shrink, you can move the drier ones over and place more slices of fresh strawberries on the tray.

Drying one pound of strawberries took me 3 hours using two trays in the oven at a time and continuously removing dry ones, moving the semi-dry ones over and replenishing with fresh slices. Because of varying oven specs, your dehydration time may vary.

Good luck and enjoy!
